This workshop is aimed to: a) provide updated information on the cases of algal and jelly fish blooming reported in theMediterranean and Black Sea; b) review the different mitigating management measures/approaches taken in relation to algal and jelly fish bloomings; c) review the effects of algal and jelly fish blooming on fisheries; d) review methodologies and data collection programmes developed in relation to bloomings; e) develop a scientific framework in support of management instruments towards eliminating and/or mitigating the bloomings; f) review the human health-related problems caused or associated with the bloomings.
